Potwalloping is an
old custom where the locals throw back pebbles which had
fallen down back to the pebble ridge to protect Westward
Ho from flooding. The festival dated back to the 1800s but
gradually faded over time until 1995 when the chairman of
Westwood Ho decided that the festival should be re-started.
